Soon I'll explain about my approach for continuous delivery.

And another conference recently watched

I liked it a lot, don't miss the example with the F1 car!

Conferences at work

In my fight for learning, make people learn, and improve the overall quality in the product and in the team, I came with an idea, to use the daily hour break for having lunch while watching a conference from infoq.com (by the way, what a great web!). I'll be recommending conferences from there when I like them, and here it comes the first (the third we visualize in our small team)

Cabo Trafalgar, first images!

First images of Cabo Trafalgar, as a sailing simulator this time. Simple model using the sails and the rudder to get advantage of the wind and reach two millestones.

Two different cameras, some statistics and my gratitude to jmonkeyengine for doing it so easy!

As I heard yesterday

"Agile is the biggest excuse for not making a deep business analysis of your product"

I can't agree more.

I'd say the opposite in the upcoming interviews if they happen, but, as it is used in my company, it's only a hole to throw all you don't want to do in a serious project, knowing there won't be time or money for the refactoring.

Refactoring... yes... how much money goes to refactoring in an Agile project in a big company, where almost a hundred people is coding over the same files?

Close to first playable thing!

Since I read "Cabo Trafalgar" (Trafalgar Cape) by Arturo Pérez-Reverte, some years ago, probably in 2005, I felt in love of sailing, naval battles and gun powder! Not even my seaside hometown had ever influenced me in such way.

Then I drew in my head what I wanted to do, a collaborative game to bring to a computer the realism from a battle or a ship race. I am learning a lot of technics, theory and vocabulary related with this topic in order to deliver something that, in the upcoming years, could attract the attention from experts and newbies and give them some fun, that's the goal.

This is the third time that I try to develop something, but this time, in less than the half of the time than others, I have got something nice. Of course, the framework I am using this time (Java + Netbeans + JMonkeyEngine) has a lot to do with this result.

I will keep writing about this game as it evolves. Maybe I got some help.
